IFMK Law Jail and Corrections Attorney Successfully Defends Clients in Wrongful Death Claims Case
Bhairav Radia won summary judgment in a case alleging federal claims under Section 1983 and wrongful death claims under state law against the Sheriff and jail officers arising from the suicide of an inmate in a county jail. After reviewing the record, the court found that the decedent’s estate had insufficient evidence to prove that any of the individual officers had notice that the inmate was suicidal or that the Sheriff’s policies, practices, or training on handling inmates at risk of suicide were inadequate.
