G. Steven Murdock, was formerly President and a member of the Executive Committee of Inman & Fitzgibbons (I&F). He spent his early law career representing injured workers before the Illinois Industrial Commission. He joined Michael Inman & Associates (n/k/a Inman & Fitzgibbons, Ltd. ) as a defense attorney representing insurers and insureds before the Illinois Industrial Commission (now the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Commission). He has tried cases of all sizes and issues for both private sector employers and public entities with a focus on fire departments. He continues to take on new challenges before the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Commission, the Illinois circuit courts and the Illinois appellate courts specializing in the defense of Illinois workers’ compensation claims. He is also licensed to practice in Missouri where he represents the interests of insurers and insureds before the Missouri Department of Labor & Industrial Relations’ Workers’ Compensation Division.
Steve is recognized by employers and employer organizations as knowledgeable in the defense of workers’ compensation claims, and is a frequent speaker before clients, non-client employers, and employer organizations about strategies and developments in the defense of these claims. He will continue to work with the Illinois Chamber of Commerce’s Employment Law Council’s Workers' Compensation Committee, monitoring and providing input on pending legislation in Springfield affecting the practice.
Steve has served on the Board of Managers for GiGi’s Playhouse Fox Valley, a Down’s Syndrome achievement center, and volunteers with programs for adults with special needs at SEASPAR in Downers Grove, Illinois.
