Job Overview
The IFMK Fall Law Clerk Program is a 9-12-week immersive experience designed to give law students real-world exposure to litigation, client service, and courtroom practice. Clerks will work closely with attorneys, partners, and staff while gaining hands-on experience across active matters.
This is a paid, part-time fall position intended for students interested in building practical legal skills and exploring long-term career opportunities at IFMK.
What You’ll Do
Law Clerks will support attorneys across a range of legal and administrative tasks, including:

Conduct legal research

Assist with drafting memoranda, motions, and briefs

Assist with case preparation and trial support

Attend court hearings, depositions, and client meetings

Support discovery review and document organization
-
Participate in case intake and strategy discussions

Collaborate with attorneys and legal assistants on active matters

Participate in professional development sessions and firm continuing education programs
Mentorship & Learning Experience:
Each Law Clerk will be paired with a designated attorney mentor and will receive:

Exposure to multiple practice groups

Professional development workshops

Structured learning opportunities through firm-led sessions
Qualifications
We are seeking motivated, curious, and detail-oriented law students who demonstrate strong academic performance and interest in hands-on legal work.
Required Qualifications:

Current JD candidate enrolled in an accredited law school

Completed at least one year of law school by program start date

Strong research, writing, and analytical skills
-
Professional communication and time management skills
-
Ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines
-
Familiarity with legal research tools (Westlaw, LeLexisNexis, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications:

Interest in civil litigation, workers’ compensation litigation, or related practice areas

Prior legal internship, clinic, or relevant work experience
Program Details

Duration: 9-12 weeks

Schedule: part-time, in-person (with limited flexibility depending on role/location)

Compensation: Paid internship (rate provided during interview process)
