IFMK Law Partner, Karin Anderson, secured summary judgment for a Township in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.  Two long-term Township employees filed a lawsuit against the Township, the Township Supervisor in his individual and official capacities, and the Township Administrator in her individual and official capacities. They alleged 1st Amendment political retaliation, violation of Due Process, breach of implied contract, civil conspiracy, violation of the Open Meetings Act and demanded punitive damages after elected and appointed officials from a new political party took office. Karin got the Township Supervisor and Township Administrator, in both their official and individual capacities, dismissed from the case along with the Due Process, civil conspiracy, Open Meetings Act and punitive damage claims. She then prevailed on her motion for summary judgment on the 1st Amendment claims and breach of implied contract claims against the Township.
