IFMK Legal Team Wins Favorable Verdict for Village and Police Chief in Defamation Case
IFMK Shareholder and Law Enforcement Practice Leader, Michael Victor, Paralegal Marie Olander, and Legal Assistant, Dorothy Oberdick, secured a complete trial victory for a south suburban Village and Chief of Police in a case alleging improper investigation into the termination of a former contractor for the Village. IFMK defended the Village and the Chief of Police from the time the case was filed in October 2022 through bench trial, held in February 2025. In August 2025, the presiding Judge issued a 50-page public opinion crediting the testimony and evidence from the Village and Police Chief, and finding in favor of the Defendants on all counts and claims (defamation and negligent supervision),
