Illinois Case Law and Legistlative Updates Subject of IFMK Presentation to Illinois Health and Hospital Association
On June 17, 2026, IFMK Partners Tony Ulm and Terry Donohue gave presentations to the Illinois Health and Hospital Association’s workers’ compensation team in Naperville, Illinois. Terry provided an update on Illinois workers’ compensation case law, and Tony addressed new legislation impacting Illinois workers’ compensation (HB5228) which was recently passed by the Illinois General Assembly. HB5228 amends the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Act and the Illinois Insurance Code, and creates new challenges and costs for employers/respondents in regards to Section 12 Independent Medical Examinations, and Utilization Reviews under Section 8.7 of the Act.
