Workers’ Compensation Board of Indiana Announces Changes to IME Report Submission Rules
As of July, 2026, the Workers’ Compensation Board of Indiana will only accept 500 pages of medical evidence/reports for submission to Independent Medical Examiners for both statutory IMEs and those that are Board-ordered. Parties should discuss and agree upon which records will be included. This change incorporates the current practice of some of the Single Hearing Members. It will help to keep the cost of an IME down as well as insure that Indiana has qualified physicians throughout the state willing to do the exam and records review.
