IFMK President and Managing Partner, Steve Murdock, recently defended an IFMK client in an alleged claim for mental stress resulting from an employee’s performance of his job duties as a mail-order pharmacist. The employee alleged that the demands of the job, including the volume and the nature of the responsibilities, caused an aggravation of underlying anxiety and depression such that the employee is no longer able to perform the job duties and will never be able to work again as a pharmacist. Steve successfully obtained a zero for the client; citing the law for mental-mental claims and a lack of supporting facts in this case, and arguing that the job duties and performance requirements for our client in the pharmaceutical industry were no different than those required of all employers in any industry, The matter is now up on review before the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Commission. IFMK continues to maintain a full denial and will continue working on behalf of our client through the pending review and any appeals.
