IFMK received an affirmation in December from the Illinois Workers' Compensation Commission (IWCC) in a mental stress case that President and Managing Partner, Steve Murdock, defended in June 2025. At that time, Steve successfully obtained a zero for the client in this case in which an employee sought damages resulting from his job duties as a mail-order pharmacist. The employee alleged that the demands of the job caused an aggravation of underlying anxiety and depression such that the employee is no longer able to perform the job duties and will never be able to work again as a pharmacist.

Steve argued for a full denial of benefits, citing that the job duties and performance requirements for our client in the pharmaceutical industry were no different than those required of all employers in any industry, and the case was taken under review by the IWCC.  The IWCC review panel has now unanimously affirmed and adopted the findings and decision of the arbitrator without modification.
