IFMK Law Partner Allison (Mecher) Schaeffer was the featured speaker at a Workers' Compensation Seminar Series hosted by the Illinois Chamber of Commerce in June 2023. She gave two presentations that were the final parts of a 4-part seminar. Her first presentation, "Exposure and Expense: Managing Workers' Compensation Claims from a Cost-Saving Perspective" covered workplace policies and procedures to aid in accident prevention and investigation, and the benefits to employers of having these in place. Her second presentation, "Navigating the Minefield of Permanent Work Restrictions" covered the short and long-term impacts that an injury resulting in permanent restrictions, including wage differential or loss of occupation exposure, permanent and total disability exposure have on employers. Allison facilitated thoughtful discussion and addressed specific questions for all attendees.
